Frequently Asked Questions
What is Gembridge?
Gembridge is the coloured gemstone marketplace for the world. An online platform, Gembridge enables a verified community of buyers, sellers and consignees to Trade With Trust™. Gembridge is regulated by Singapore’s Ministry of Law for purposes of anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism, in cooperation with the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), which is leading regulatory reforms across 200 countries.
How Does Gembridge Verify its Members?
Gembridge verifies company and individual details through peer review and millions of records from global sanctions, anti-money laundering and terrorist financing watchlists, as well as checking for Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs) and adverse media.
What Does a 'Verified Community’ Mean?
Whether you’re buying, selling or consigning, Gembridge effectively ensures that every Gembridge member you trade with has passed through our verification process and is a trusted partner with whom you can trade freely.
How Do I Trade With Trust?
Every member of the Gembridge trading community must pass a stringent verification process, helping everyone to TRADE WITH TRUST™. Trade members must also submit to a peer review to ensure the highest standards of integrity. Gemstones are bought and sold via a secure and insured door-to-door service. Gembridge manages counter-party risks and offers a U.S.dollar-based escrow account. Payment is only released when a transaction is complete.
How Do I Register?
Visit GEMBRIDGE.COM, tap the REGISTER button, fill out the online form and agree to our Terms & Conditions, Disclosure & Listing Policy and Charter to register. You can join Gembridge as a Trade Professional or - for those who don’t necessarily make a living out of buying and selling - a Friend of Gembridge.
Can I View Items In Person?
Buyers can request a viewing at their local Brink’s or Malca-Amit office, paying market rates for the shipment and secure viewing room. On acceptance, payment is made through the gateway. Should the buyer reject the articles, the seller pays the shipment costs back to the Global Hub. Brink’s or Malca-Amit must handle the shipping from our Global Hubs to maintain chain of custody.
Can I List My Coloured Gemstones On Gembridge With Their Reports?
Yes, as long as the reports have been issued by a reputable lab. Before shipping, the Buyer has the option to pay for a verification report which matches the stone against the cataloguing details in the listing. This confirms that the Seller is shipping the stone exactly as described and ensures the Buyer gets what they pay for.
Can I Put My Own Selections Of Gemstones On Gembridge?
Yes, you can feature a themed selection of coloured gemstones on Gembridge.
Are My Coloured Gemstones Insured?
Jewellers’ Blocks insure your articles at our Gembridge Hubs. All shipments must be insured. We make sure your articles on consignment to members of Gembridge are insured.
Can I Place My Coloured Gemstones On Consignment With Another Member?
Yes, we just require additional information from the consignee about their insurance, security arrangements and financial health. If additional insurance is required, Gembridge can assist.
What Is The Easiest Way To List On Gembridge?
To list a coloured gemstone on Gembridge, please log in to access our LISTING FORM. Submit a form for each item you want listed, including images, videos and lab reports, if available. You will receive a record of every listing you submit.
