Demantoid garnet is a brilliant green variety of andradite, and one of the very large garnet group. Demantoid is a rare garnet, first found in the Ural Mountains in Russia in the 1860s, and in the early 20th century it was popularised in Fabergé jewellery. Russian demantoids can also exhibit famous curved ‘horsetail’ inclusions, adding to their associative value. Demantoid is particularly special as it shows a very strong dispersion or ‘fire’ - the ability to reflect back many different colours of light. Dispersion is one of the very valuable properties of diamond, and it was for this property that demantoid was so named: ‘diamond-like.’

Orders are shipped to you immediately after payment is received. Gemstones can be verified before shipment and must match their cataloguing. If not, the Buyer has 72 hours after delivery to notify Gembridge, who will investigate and charge the Seller for their return.

Payment can be made directly to Gembridge via bank transfer or via credit card.
