An exceptional posh 18 KT Yellow Gold Ring with 1 x 7.64 ct oval Spessartine. The Centre stone is accented with unique Russian Demantoids totaling 6.13 ct (2 x oval demantoids of 0.97 ct, and 24 round Garnet Demantoids of 5.16ct).  The ring is also set with 34 Diamonds G-H color and VVS1 clarity, total weight 0.2 ct. Because Spessartine has dark golden hue, it is considered to be a noble gemstone, in the past, it was widely used in 'kings and monarchs' jewels. That is why our Spessartine Ring is an absolute masterpiece created for modern Tsarinas! This ring makes a perfect set with Spessartine Demantoid Earrings with Diamonds, which are also presented in our collection.

Diamond is perhaps the most famous gemstone. It has many sought after gem properties: it’s incredibly hard (10/10 on Mohs scale), brilliant, lustrous and exhibits high dispersion. Most diamonds are billions of years old and composed simply of the element carbon. Diamonds in the white range have been popularised in engagement rings since the 1940s, while fancy colours are far rarer. Diamonds are also used to complement and accentuate the allure of coloured gemstones. Diamond is the birthstone for April and for 60th and 75th anniversaries

Demantoid garnet is a brilliant green variety of andradite, and one of the very large garnet group. Demantoid is a rare garnet, first found in the Ural Mountains in Russia in the 1860s, and in the early 20th century it was popularised in Fabergé jewellery. Russian demantoids can also exhibit famous curved ‘horsetail’ inclusions, adding to their associative value. Demantoid is particularly special as it shows a very strong dispersion or ‘fire’ - the ability to reflect back many different colours of light. Dispersion is one of the very valuable properties of diamond, and it was for this property that demantoid was so named: ‘diamond-like.’

Gembridge Members source their gem-quality stones from countries all over the world, including many famous regions and mines. While origin is not an indicator of quality, it does provide context for buyers.

Origins listed on Gembridge may be stated as an opinion on a laboratory report or described by the Seller familiar with the stone’s provenance.

Gemstones come in many different forms. On Gembridge, we describe each by its shape in simple terms – round, square, cushion etc. Where relevant, we may also list the style of cutting, such as brilliant, step etc.

Although untreated gems are highly prized, there are many universally accepted treatments that enhance a gemstone’s beauty, including heating (for colour), and oiling (for clarity). On Gembridge, all treatments must be fully disclosed, so you know exactly what kind of gemstone you are purchasing.
